If you have trouble walking long distances without assistance, you should consider a freedom cart.  These carts are very similar to a walker, but the 4 wheels allow motion in any direction without having to pick it up each time.  The cart also has a seat that folds down to provide a place to rest if you start to get tired.  Hand brakes can be used to keep the cart in place while standing, or pushed down and locked to keep the cart stationary when using it as a seat.
